CAB Vietnam Youth Promotes Waste Reduction at “Green Economy Day – Digital Innovation” Event

Da Nang, Vietnam (May 21st, 2024) –  CAB Vietnam Youth spread the message of “achievable waste reduction” at the “Green Economy Day – Digital Innovation” event held in Hoa Thuan Tay Ward, Hai Chau District. The event attracted over 500 residents and featured various eco-conscious activities:

• Recyclable Waste Collection: Residents earned points for bringing recyclables.
• Cooking Oil Upcycling: Attendees learned how to turn used oil into soap.
• Eco-Friendly Products Showcase: Sustainable alternatives were displayed.

CAB Vietnam’s booth focused on practical solutions for waste reduction. They highlighted reuse, refilling, and particularly, composting food scraps into organic fertilizer. Residents actively participated by refilling their dish soap bottles with Minh Hong’s eco-friendly formula and purchasing probiotics for composting. The CAB youth even guided residents on making their own probiotics, using food waste composting bins, and achieving odor-free decomposition. The exchange of knowledge between young and old participants was a heartwarming testament to community collaboration.

Hoa Thuan Tay Ward is piloting the “Clean Kitchen to Green Garden” initiative, promoting food waste composting. The program started with 17 households receiving compost bins and probiotics. After just one month, the success is evident – 34 additional households have purchased their own composting kits!

CAB Vietnam Youth’s dedication is commendable. Their participation not only raised environmental awareness but also honed their community engagement skills.
