CAB Vietnam Partners to Reduce Waste and Landfill Use

Over the past two weeks, CAB Vietnam collaborated with stakeholders on a series of activities promoting waste reduction, particularly plastic waste, and minimizing landfill disposal.

Communication and Education Efforts:

• Booths in Hoa Thuan Tay, Hai Chau I & II, and Cam Le Districts: Showcased effective solutions like refilling, reusing, and composting food waste.
• Sessions in Hoa Cuong Nam, Hoa Khe, and Hoa Vang Districts: Disseminated information on waste sorting regulations (Articles 75 & 79) and waste collection fees based on weight/volume (Law on Environmental Protection 2020 & Decree 45/2022/ND-CP).

Positive Outcomes:

• Residents refilled nearly 60 liters of dishwashing liquid and floor cleaner, reducing reliance on new bottles.
• Over 50 bins and 200 kg of organic compost were purchased to manage waste effectively.

Collaboration and Next Steps:

CAB Vietnam expresses gratitude to collaborating agencies and colleagues. Da Nang’s Plan 94/KH-UBND on source-sorted waste classification (2024) aligns with these efforts. We hope our activities contribute to the city’s plan for implementing source-sorted waste classification under the Law on Environmental Protection 2020 in early 2025.
