From April 19–22, 2025, CAB Vietnam, in collaboration with the Union of Science and Technology Associations of Da Nang and Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung (FES) Vietnam, organized 4 training sessions on Energy and Climate Change for 55 residents and 27 commune-level officials from Hoa Tien Commune and Hoa Phat and Khue My Wards.
Through engaging and participatory methods, participants explored:
What energy is and how it relates to climate change The impact of climate change on daily life Differences between weather & climate, renewable & non-renewable energy, and energy saving vs. efficient energy use Da Nang’s renewable energy development direction & policies How solar power systems work and their investment benefits
From this foundation, residents developed practical energy-saving and renewable energy solutions suited to their homes — and shared them with local officials for joint action and support!
Local officials are now taking it further: they’re planning awareness campaigns to inspire sustainable energy habits across their communities.We’re excited to hear from the 3 localities in 3 months on how these solutions have made a difference in energy consumption!
This training was part of a KAP (Knowledge, Attitudes, Practices) study across 7 districts in Da Nang in 2024.
